A week or so ago I mentioned that Don Knuth was the author of the famous car buying algorithm. (Go to the dealer closest to your house, point to the car closest to the door, ... which maximizes time for more important things.) I've since come across that algorithm again, and it's attributed to Seymour Cray. Just a little compsci history for your "collection of useless facts." Well, I guess "useless" is relative. :) -- James
