Auto232 USB

I have noticed this new feature in Hiarcs 8.  I was wondering if a simple usb to
usb cable is needed, or some powered device?  Is it similar to comm port
auto232, or is some more software needed?

I have a lap link device that uses the usb ports, for moving files between
computers.  It is called Mega-Data.  Do I need a powered divice like this?

Will auto232 ever be the same again..............
