The bug found by Vincent Vega a week ago, is fixed now, and available through Chest's home page http://www.drb.insel.de/~heiner/Chess/chest.html . The bugfix consists of one corrected source file "mate2.c": http://www.drb.insel.de/~heiner/Chess/mate2.c The bug manifests in that Chest does not recognize the obvious mate-in-2 in [D]8/8/8/8/8/8/4KP2/R1Qn3k w - - 0 1 Without the bugfix above, the original Chest3.19 can be stopped to exhibit the bug by the command line option "-a", but that slows down Chest. The original bug detection message was http://www.talkchess.com/forums/1/message.html?226522 The followups also contain a description about the circumstances necessary for the bug to occur.
