I agree completely !
I am sure this was the case.

I would say so. Yes.

g3 is better than o-o because the lines after g3 allow white to stop black
from castling.
if white castles short and black castles long, this is not good for white.

But the idea g3 Bh6 d5 exd qf5 looks interesting to me. White gets much
pressure bringing the rooks on d and e file and blacks king has to remain in
the centre !!

You are absolutley right. But I would say BOTH games were very interesting and
strong.
The 7th game was not weaker. The connected passed pawns vs. the queen was very
interesting. In both games anand found a way out. A fire-exit !!
Without this fire-exit he would have been overplayed by Rebel.
I guess he knows this and therefore his mood after the game was not the best.
