Crap, I just follow the instructions, and the only directory I make, is for my books and database. Everthing is there, it should work but it doesn't. I tried HIARCS 8 last night by itself, but no dice, only the 1.03dev. allowed it to communicate. Although I could here sometimes the pieces drop on the board...that was all 1.04 could send back to me?! I don't do anything fancy, all Chessbase Programmes are interconnected. I think it may be due to my USB but I'll leave it for now if it works with 1.03, but will keep it in mind and well, on my computer what you said. I don't partition my drive, but I make some seperate dir. but not to the extent you do. I do through trail and error! lol Still it should have worked! I'm puzzeled! Vexed really! Thanks, Terry
