Yes. On my brand new Toshiba notebook powered by a 1.6GHz Pentium 4, Chess Tiger
is as fast as on a 1.1GHz Athlon.

Generally, take the speed in MHz of the P4 and divide it by 1.45 to get the
speed in MHz an Athlon would need to have the same processing power.
