Fritz was not that strong. shredder was not that strong. tiger was not there. it was the time of fritz / genius / maybe junior / rebel / mchess. today cstal is not working anymore against other programs because they outsearch it. same problem hiarcs7.32 had. therefore hiarcs8 is on the market. no - hiarcs plays different. and it has. i am not sure if cstal could do much today. even if we would have had continued. but this is difficult to say. chris whittington could only comment.
