It all depends on how intrested in the qualety of the book.
A special computer openings book you could make with games of the top of the
SSDF list.
And if your wise analyse some of these positions (from the point when the
programs get out of book).
Chessbase once delivered an openings book wich was ment to be fore computer
computer games I believe on chessbase magazine 62 if not 64
Though I doubt this book will be fine to day against programs with good
openingsbooks it has somelines in it which can be a weapon against oponents with
a small openings book.
If you want to put analysis in your book 80 ply's and above are advisable
Sometimes the move which won the game and was not found by computers might be on
move 40 or later by moving less moves from this analysis in your book will leave
it with the position it will draw.

(So this is the way if you want to build a real qualety book)
An other way of being sure if you want to put in less moves is see how you
program does from out of book against other engines
Which does not show if the openings line is corect or not but on how your
program handles that openings line.
(You could save the games your program played and won with that openingsbook
and after having played many games create an openingsbook with the database of
these saved games.
You will get an openings book of position your program likes.
Then there still is the project of aproved (Checked with programs using much
time a move) of 2600 rated games on Dan Corbit's site
But most of this was all mentioned 1 week ago
in the threat (un)authorized openingsbooks.
