In your third game, Hiarcs as White plays 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Bc4? What is this? Black is immediately equal, ...a6 is a very useful move to have gotten in for free in this type of position. Is something wrong with Hiarcs' book? I saw another game where it was out of book by move 2 or 3, with disastrous effects, in the Chigorin French (1.e4 e6 2.Qe2), which is a rare, but not completely disused, continuation -- for instance, I ran across a game where Ivanchuk used it to win against GM Ian Rogers. These kinds of defects will cost the program many points. Maybe Chessbase should issue a patch, not for the program, but the book. Regards, Vine Smith
