Hello Terry, First of all I think ALL programs play better on the fastest hardware possible at longer time controls. This just seems to me as making excuses for Hiarcs 8. Against the top 3 programs, F7,S6,CT14 it is doing very poor. I hope it changes but so far it fails vs the top 3. I believe it will do better vs say Gandalf, Junior,Century and older programs. I expected more than I'm getting so far As I said in an earlier post, do you think that letting Hiarcs 8 go 1 or 2 plies deeper will make it come alive while doing nothing for it's opponents? It is hitting 10-14 ply at Game/60' and I don't believe an extra ply or 2 will make that much difference vs others. The SSDF will test it at 40/2 hours and that's why I don't bother. Shredder is supposed to be a "slow searcher" and all that stuff but it does very well at G/60'. I will make no excuses for Hiarcs 8. First impression is very disappointing. Hope it changes. Jim
