I play it sometimes myself. Then again, I'm not such a good player. But perhaps it was just Hiarcs' particular line in the Ponziani which was faulty, which wouldn't surprise me given some of the other moves from its opening book that I've seen posted here (I still can't believe its 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Bc4? -- was it a typo entered into the book by accident during a rush to get the product on the market?).
