Subject: Hiarcs8 v CMFun Blitz - rematch!

Author: George Sobala

After reading the replies to my previous post I decided a rematch was in order:
CMFun had been losing a significant number of games on time, and I had not heard
of the wb2uci adapter before.

So, a rematch. CMFun now running through wb2uci, 16Mb hash, 800MHz Duron, 2'
Blitz:

Hiarcs8 +43 -45 =20 (49.07%)

CMFun performed much better with this adapter (previous match was using
Inbetween and the old Chessbase Winboard adapter).

Incidentally, although my and others' results seem to show Hiarcs8 to be
slightly inferior to the other leading programs, I am not disappointed with my
purchase. I often use engines for observing games or analysis, and so far,
Hiarcs8 does seem to be more likely to prefer the lines chosen by GMs - but I
don't have statistics to back this up! (I understand Vishy Anand was said to
prefer Hiarcs7.32 over other chess engines for analysis.)
