Subject: Best second language for a chess programmer?

I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for a good second language for a chess
programmer. I see people post on Volker's site and the Winboard Forum in another
language, so I thought maybe whatever that language is might be a good one, or
two if it's more than one :)

Another consideration might be where the computer chess world championships are
held. I'm not sure if there is one location or if it moves around from year to
year, but there seem to be a large technology oriented population in Europe, so
is there a predominating language in Europe, or are there many?

The last thought I had was about chess literature. I've often heard that Russian
chess books are better read in their native language, and that there are many
wonderful Russian chess books that have not been translated into English, so
there's another possibility.

Any suggestions? I'm all ears...

Russell
