a 2x speedup each 18 month gives a 1.6x speedup each 12 month :

End of 2002 : 3.5 Ghz
End of 2003 : 5.6 Ghz
End of 2003 : 9   Ghz
End of 2004 : 14.3Ghz
End of 2005 : 23  Ghz

Not far from prediction ...
