Since yesterday I have been playing Hiarcs 8 in blitz games. I started with Fritz 7 as the opponent and after 22 games Fritz was ahead by 15-7 which is about the same performance I was getting at G/60. After more games the score was 41.5-24.5. So the score was improving slightly. I then switched to Shredder 6 (original Chessbase version). Hiarcs 8 won by 34-26. This is the first win I have had by Hiarcs 8. Maybe things are getting better? The only thing different is that I switched to the Hiarcs 8 GUI instead of the Junior 7 GUI. This was done before the Fritz 7 match. I hate the new Chessbase GUI because it has so many bugs. If it makes Hiarcs 8 play better then I will live with it at least while using Hiarcs 8. Many more games are needed to see if this is actually the problem I have been having. For the moment I can only keep my fingers crossed. Jim
