Do you know anything about that? Have them show you specific instances. People like to say stuff like that. I have found that MS products are as good or better than any others in this regard. Furthermore, the new .NET compiler outperforms Intel C++ 6.0 most of the time. I don't have a copy of Intel C++ 6.01 yet, and maybe that will change things. But the MS compiler looks very, very good. Also, it creates smaller binaries (even though they are faster). I think I know the magic of Eugene's blazing crafty builds. There is some crankyness with the Windows header files. I have found with the new .NET compiler you have to put windows.h FIRST if you use it. If you have not tried .NET, I strongly recommend it. Even the VB .NET stuff is cool (it has real try/catch and all kinds of nifty stuff in it) [I never much liked VB before except as a quick, knock-off front-end].
