I think it's not a big problem, as soon as you have understood (1.) the GUI/engine concept, and (2.) how ChessBase handles that. When you follow the suggestion above - uninstall old version, keep engines, have ChessProgram7.exe insalled only once - you won't have any real problems IMO. It doesn't matter IMO, under which name you use it - you can access all engines always. The only thing is: You don't have individual preferences (i.e. book) for every engine each, immediatly. But this needs just a few mouse clicks. But there's room for improvement, no doubt. For example engine-dependant book & book options, etc. which are set automatically when you change the engine. At the moment, I don't know what else you'd want to change dependant on the engine (I even use the same book for every engine). If book & settings are not an issue, then you'd just have to press F3, and choose the engine. That's all. I'd prefer that over having multiple installations of the same program. Regards, M.Scheidl
