Point taken and a dignified response too. I guess I came on a bit strongly because I frequently see posts on this forum that discourage people, eg, when a person spends a lot of time and gets a lot of enjoyment out of running engine-engine matches/tournaments and posts their results only to be told by somebody that unless they're doing this on the fastest and latest PC's that there's no point! Looking back through my collection of 'Selective Search' magazines, I see that programs such as Fritz3 were still defeating GM's on P133's. So I figure that today's programs running on Pentiums, Pentium2's and Pentium3's still give a very very high standard of play. And despite what some may say, the relative performances of the programs to each other surely wouldn't differ too greatly on faster hardware.
