Because the position is really neat! The critical line is rxf6 qxe5 fe gf ef. Now, the black king is frozen out of play, and the black rook is not useful. Yet, white has given up his material edge, and the win is a long long king walk away. In the meantime, black probably sees it can get a passed pawn. It's one of those positons where logic and counting matter much much more than calculation. dave
