It is perfect development environment - powerful command line, all GNU tools and libraries, virtual terminals, etc. In this setup linux is small and fast - after removing unneeded drivers and services I get under 4MB of memory usage after startup. If you must run in graphical environment (for example for web browsing), try one of lighter window managers. I would recommend WindowMaker. But, if you develop under DOS, why not switch to text-only linux for development? Andrzej
