100% true. MS has intentionally changed some details in the latest
Windows versions to break Linux support of NTFS.

I do something similar (but a lot simpeler) with wmmount.

Click-> Disk mounted
Click again-> Disk unmounted

Trivial.

Most parallel port scanners do not work. Companies that make them do
not make Linux drivers and do not give out information to make drivers.
Those can never be supported. Best thing to do is to check up in
advance and avoid those products.
