This is a Window Maker dock-app right ?
For a while I used mountapp, but I experienced system locks once
in a while. Now I'm back to XFce anyway. Maybe in 2-3 years GNUstep
is ready for use. Then I'll check again.

Why would someone now want to buy a parallel port scanner anyway ?
For 100 Euro you get good qualitiy and fully Linux compatible scanners.
OCR, of course, is an issue. Maybe FineReader or Omnipage works with wine ?
