Buying one of the USB-scanners that work is cheaper. SCSI-controllers
and SCSI-devices don't pay off on a modern PC. Too much extra money for
what you get.

As is the C programming language Vincent uses for his chess engine, buy they way
;-)
The unix shell is nothing else than another programming environment. Why use
different conventions then ? Especially as chess engines nowadays are mostly
integrated into the gui the unix way even on Windows !

Yes, but they put their latest distro on their servers with a month or so
delay. Tell me if this no longer true.
