But for our purposes: Without shared memory, this cluster could run eight different chess programs at once, but you couldn't run ONE parallel version of any chess program that could use more than one CPU, like Crafty, Deep Shredder, etc. So --- you can run programs in parallel, but you can't run parallel programs.
