No Fritz7 played 494 games on Athlon1200 and only 250 games on K6-2 450. We have 16 elo improvement based on 494 games and 21 elo reduction based on 250 games. 494*16-250*21>0 and it means that there is an improvement if you do the right average. I also believe more the results on A1200 because both programs played a similiar number of games when on K6-450 Deep Fritz has 945 games when Fritz7 played only 250 games. Maybe when Fritz7 plays also 945 games on K6-450 it's rating will be better than Deep Fritz. May be Frans is hit the wall and no progress >is possible anymore. In some recent interview he was optimistic and promised >30-50 >rating points to Fritz8. It's very difficult to believe now... The opposite if there is no big improvement in Fritz7 it is more easy to believe that big progress in Fritz8 is possible. >Or is it so, that this 2700 level is the limit for current type software in >Athlon >1200? > >Jouni No I do not believe in it.
