Yes optimization is such fun. As for the bit reverse operation, it might not be
used often enough for it to matter. The eight bit data should take only two
cache lines so should be ok. But the cost of occasional L1 misses and but a few
L2 misses will overtake the savings of a few cycles at but a little increase of
the cache/memory bandwidth use. Enabling LUT algorithms should be the last
optimization tweaks done before freezing the app.
