I think if you really want the fastest available System outside a Cray or some
cluster you can't buy. This one from microway is probably faster than a 32way
1.3Ghz Power4 (those power4 cpu's are atleast twice as fast as the Athlon's)

This would also average 2 more ply than your $8000 system. 3-1/2 more ply than
the System SSDF is using.
Add about 270elo to any program on the SSDF list if ofcourse they would work on
a cluster. From what i've seen Only the Hardest Problems would take more than
3minutes to solve with this one. What takes fritz 83Minutes on my 1Ghz Athlon
would take like 83 seconds on this cluster. If fritz were on this cluster you
could find (Nolot 5?) Spassky's e5! in 20 minutes as opposed to 18hours on 1ghz.

Ofcourse you could just wait 9 years.
