Subject: Long time control and algorithms??

Hello,

Do algorithms for long time control exist? How it is related to not much
detailing of the code? like for example in the evaluation function, give an
average bonus for rook at own_half_open_file (Rc1, no white c-pawn), without
verifying that the rook may actually attacking a full_tria (b6/c5/d6) and not
the backward_pawn (b4/c5/d4). Is it already enough to provide only general
evaluation code (except those necessary) if the engine is designed for long time
control. And how about the search codes.

Regards,
Dinan
