Bandwith between the processor and chip set has increased from 3.2 GBps at 400 Mhz with the Intel 850 chip set to 4.2 GBps at 533 MHz. Unfortunately, as far as memory performance is concerned, the new 850E chip set which you owned still officially support ONLY two channels of PC800 RDRAM, for a total bandwith of 3.2 GBps between chip set and memory. That's slower than the chip set-to-CPU interface, I had hoped to see the new PC1066 RDRAM used in this platform, but Intel has yet to qualify that memory with the 850E chip set. But if you do want in the future a more significant performance boost, I suggest you wait for the 533-MHz bus to be paired with PC1066 RDRAM. Not in disguise but the real thing.
