I had a similar problem with the upgrade. The first time I tried to install it I
was informed that the download had been corrupted. So I deleted it and
downlaoded it again.
That was successful!
However, I did encounter some problems while trying to change some settings in
the page set up when clicking onto PRINT The program would crash when I tried
to change a setting for the PIECE font (Fritz pieces or Old style, or USCF
etc.)This happened a few times. I shut everything down, including my computer
and rebooted. The problem still persisted.
So, I copied the Fritz 7 engine version 7,0,0,8 to a different folder and left a
copy in my regular engines folder.
I then installed the previous Fritz 7 upgrade Modification date of March 23,
2002 using the repair selection. I then checked the engine and it still read
7,0,0,8 but the page set up problem I was having was corrected. I thought that
the engine version would have reverted back to 7,0,0,7 but that was not the
case.
Whatever any of you do with the upgrades, try to make sure you have an extra
copy of your engines. Even if you have different versions. You can create a
folder for each individual upgraded engine. This way you can give it a name that
you can quickly see if an when you wish to use it.
Of course you do not want to have too many extra folders floating around.
