Maybe, but I hope not. At this time it seems that they are AWARE of the fact
that their slim and fast OS is the reason why people find it usable and actually
use it (and keep on buying Palms and PalmOS handhelds more than any other
brand).
Many people think that they should add some multimedia features in PalmOS,
without making it bloated. It seems that it is exactly what they are going to
do, in a modular way.
There is also the fact that the makers of the PalmOS are aware that they need to
respect and give a chance to application writers. So they are probably not going
to add too many things in the OS, and instead let people choose the third party
applications they want to use.
It has so far worked very well for PalmOS, and there are hundreds (thousands?)
of excellent applications for it.
