When migrating to new engine releases, such as from Crafty 18.14 to 18.15, should one continue to use the learning files from the previous release? Or should the new engine start over? As a new poster, who has been lurking over a year, here's some of my background. I became re-interested in computer chess a little over a year ago after a 20 year hiatus. At that time, I wrote a 26K chess program in Z80 assembler that was pretty competitive against many commercial programs of the time. Now, I've been toying with the idea of writing another, but so far haven't started. Now that the ice is broken, don't be surprised to see a lot more questions. Dave
