You can use the right hardware and the wrong program, or the right program on
the wrong hardware. ;-)
My hardware is not as fast as yours (P4 1.6GHz in Toshiba notebook, 48Mb HT),
but on this machine the latest Tiger (right program :) finds Rxh4! in 48
seconds.
It would play Qg5 instantly, then changes its mind for g5 (in 3.6s, score +1.40
after 37 seconds), then finally plays Rxh4 in 48 seconds.
I guess CM8000 might be even faster on this position.
BTW you always have cutting-edge hardware! My developpement computer at the
office is a K6-2 450MHz. Want to swap? Come on, it's the legendary computer on
which Tiger 14 has been developped! ;-)
