I know that "myth". I think it is just a myth, but even if it is not, I don't
see why one would fear to use a cell phone to play chess. When you play chess on
a phone, your brain is far away of the emitter, so the level of radiation is
very very low (note that we are talking about electromagnetic radiation here, or
photons of low energy, not the kind of deadly radiations generated by nuclear
materials).
Somebody with a good background in physics, help! I think the level of radiation
is something like 1/(d^2) were d is the distance to the emitter. So the level of
"radiations" falls very quickly when the distance grows.
I think the dimishing in the level of radiation is the same as the level of the
sound. When you ear is close to the earpiece you hear the sound. The level of
radiation is like the sound. Go away just a few centimeters from the earpiece.
Can you hear that the sound has almost disappeard? Well the level of radiations
has dimished in a similar way.
