Book learning is more difficult. Crafty learns two things about games. Results and search scores. Results are probably safe to carry for a long time. If it loses a game in a particular line, it will likely lose again. But search scores are different since they only give a "hint" about how the game will turn out, and the scores can be invalidated by engine changes.
