I have used one owned by a friend of mine when I was living in Africa.

That was back in 1979.

For me this unit is still a mythical one, though it played weak (but managed to
beat me several times).

The same year I have been able to play against a Chess Challenger 10 and against
Sargon II on a TRS-80.

All of this took place in Ivory Coast, where I lived at that time.

That was definitely the start of my passion for computer chess.
