Yes the discussion is nonsense about dual.

Fritz didn't play Tiger regrettably. Nevertheless
congratulations to Frans Morsch.

I saw soon it would win against insomniac last round,
so i offered with a pawn up a draw against Stefan (Shredder), who
couldn't refuse of course with a pawn down. That secured
my 2nd place. We didn't know at that time that
Shredder would be 3d then, as many other games were
still playing and it was unclear what would happen
with the sum of opponents. It initially even looked
bad for Stefan to get 3d.

Every program is getting search depths nowadays
which are huge. Like even insomniac gets easily 15
ply each move. Shredder 15-19 ply each move.

Even TheKing nowadays gets 12 ply (used to get 9 ply
sometimes at the same hardware), also a big improvement.

DIEP with 10-13 ply was the program with one of the
smallest search depths, but don't forget that both
The King and DIEP are not exactly big forward pruners.

Fritz, Shredder and all these programs seem to forward
prune. Many moves a 12 ply search depth from DIEP
said more about the coming moves that would get played
than a 18 ply search depth from Shredder did.

Unless you reach search depths < 10 ply, nowadays search
depth/hardware is no excuse simply to lose or win a game.

In this case it is funny that the first 3 programs were all
dual running programs.

Nevertheless thanks for the compliments Jorge!
