There are certainly many.
For instance, Eugen Nalimov is author of "Siberian Chess", an old but pretty
strong, freeware engine.
There are/were Centaur and Dragon, having participated om wmcccs and the AEGON
tourneys.

Furthermore, there is the old pioneering program CAISSA (iirc) from the very 1st
days of computer chess.

Don't know what to think anout Botvinnik's "Pioneer".
