Hi Peter! I had been puzzled recently about my CM8000 beating Fritz6 and I would run Fritz on my 1.5GHz P4 desktop computer while the CM8K on a 0.9GHz P3 laptop. Except for one time that Fritz drew with the CM, it has been beaten convincingly. If I swapped hardware the CM beats Fritz6 hands down like 20 moves and under with a brilliant sacrifice ending in Fritz being mated. I have come to the conclusion that my Fritz maybe flawed. Some of the CCC writers have even suggested I tried changing Fritz parameters like hash tables and the like but for both 10sec/move and 20sec/move the King has the upperhand. I cannot believe it until I read your Epic battles between CM and Yace. Perhaps if I had Bill McGaugh's parameter settings for CM it would even be stronger, I don't know. Thanks for publishing all 40 of the games between CM and Yace. I will go over them and pick out the most brillian for my chess souvenirs. Sandi
