Subject: ALT-like problems with ChessBase Lite

This problem is related to the ALT operation in html code...

When you pass the mouse cursor over an image or object, a little window pops up
with a brief description of the image or operation. This happens quite a lot in
Windows and is an important feature in making Windows easy to use. If you don't
know what an unknown button is, usually you can just move the mouse cursor over
it, and a little description will popup automatically.

The problem is when the popups appear BEHIND the current window. Then you don't
see them, and don't even know they exist. They're invisible! This happens
occasionally with my system in various applications, but not very often. It's
not usually a significant problem. But it happens almost all the time with one
important program that I use, and I didn't know about it til today...

I installed the program a couple of weeks ago, and have had many sessions with
it. During all that time, I didn't realize that it had those little popups
describing the many icons/buttons. Then today they started appearing out of the
blue, as if by magic. It's fairly clear that's what was happening. They were
appearing all along, but just started showing up on top of the window today.
Then no sooner had they appeared, they disappeared again, and I can no longer
see them. (: They'll appear again someday when they get in the mood again, I
guess. :)

The software involved is "ChessBase Lite", which is older software, written in
the days of DOS/Windows 3.1. It generally works fine on my W98se system except
for this problem. It's a freeware chess database system downloadable from:
http://www.chessbase.com/download/cblight/index.asp

So my question is:

Is there any way to make those little popups appear on top of the current window
all of the time?
