This is an aggressive method of narrowing down the search. It allows the program to go much deeper, but it also increases the possibility that it will oversee something. I think futility pruning 2 as default is best for blitz games. Perhaps futility pruning 1 or 0 is good for analyzing games overnight where time-control is of no concern. Eran
