Actually, Tom Kerrigan in his old post reported that it maybe 10% slower because
of pointer "this".

However, like you, I prefer C++. It helps me implement and upgrade any thing
with time of 1/2 of C. It also brings more freedom to add new ideas because C++
can reduce or hide some technique details.

The other thing to note is that if you develop own GUI or utilities, C++ will be
the best choice.
