Engine load times under Fritz GUI The Fritz7 GUI is my favorite but this scenario drives me nuts: An external engine (UCI or WB) has just finished a tournament game (round-robin) and immediately has to play again. Fritz GUI does not give the engine enough time to unload (and cleanup) after first game and to reload (and initialize) for next game. Because Fritz GUI is too hasty, it sends first commands when engine is not yet ready to receive and communication breaks down. Fritz GUI then marks the engine as "unable to load" and excludes it from tournament (till restart of GUI). Meanwhile engine remains in memory as communication is broke. Even if it is deleted manually from memory, GUI will still not give it the chance to continue in tournament. ALL external engines sooner or later fall into this trap. Question: How can one set the time for unload/reload of non-native engines under Fritz GUI. Regards, Matthias.
