I am interested in knowing what one has to do to take full advantage of a HD with 5.4 ms seek time. Once the super-fast HD has "seeked" :), how does one get the information to the place where it's needed [somewhere in the microprocessor?]? If the method for doing this is slow, then maybe wasted money on an expensive HD? Same question for going the other way, too. Please pretend my question is not ignorant about SCSI & IDE.
