I wanted a good old-fashioned heroic British name for my program, so I asked Dann (who is American) and he suggested Beowulf (who was Danish). Still... not a bad start. I believe the fable dates from around the 7th Century AD, and is the earliest example of heroic legend in the (old) English language. Its origins are almost certainly Scandinavian. Cheers, Col
