Tinker seemed appropriate, given the amount of time that I tinker (fiddle) with the eval function, search routines, etc. It also seemed to have some slight mechanical/robotic connotation in my mind. Tinker started on ICC in Jan, 2000. Prior to that it was just "bprchess" back to 1997 (when my long dormant computer chess interest was rekindled during the 2nd GK/DB match), and just plain old "chess" back to 1971 (started in Fortran in high school and college, and vastly different). Change from high school to college was adding my own stacking to do recursion in Fortran on DEC minis.
