A long time ago, there was a problem reported with chess programs "tying up" their opponents CPU usage somewhat, via the auto232 com link - ie., cheating. My question is "Is that still a problem with the current programs when using auto232?" Jason W., in another thread on CCC, recently wrote: "Oh, you mean games played on two machines using the wonderful CB implementation of auto232 that gives you virtually random results?" Which I had thought was the preferred way to test two programs, ie., use two computers, keep pondering on, and link up with auto232. If that's NOT the best way to test the engines, what is? Is there a problem with CB's version of auto232? Has this problem extended into Winboard engine to engine matches? Thanks, David
