Linux. Mandrake 8.2 at this moment but I have used SuSE and Red Hat.
At work I am mainly, 99.9%, in a Unix environment and the tool set (vi, grep,
sed, awk, shell scripting) available on Unix/Linux is not available on MS.

Linux.

I am using SCID, Crafty, Xboard and recently Yace for my chess environment.
These applications give me everything the commercial applications provide minus
a few bells and whistles.

My Laptop is dual boot to Windows 2000 or Linux. I have an Oracle based
application running on Windows that I don't have the expertise to convert from
Oracle Power Objects to Java (or Perl or PHP, etc). Eventually I will get that
done. Oracle runs on Linux and I am running 9i there and 8i on Windows. I boot
Windows only when I need to get to that Oracle app. Perhaps twice a month.

My main reason for going Linux is that I refuse to run Windows XP. Windows 2000
will be the last MS release for me and now Wal-Mart is selling PC's with Linux
installed, Lindows, and real modems.
