QUESTION:  As a USER of chess software, and not a professional software
developer, I am not exactly up-to-speed on SMP versus "message passing."  For my
benefit, and the benefit of any other non-professionals here, could you please
explain the essential differences between these two?  Also, benefits and
penalties.  Thanks in advance.
