I spend a ton of time thinking about evaluation and forward pruning ideas, and I still don't have a program that even plays yet. One of these days I suppose I'll sit down and bang out the rest of the "basics" so I can start testing my ideas. I also need to write a GUI to play with so I can better "see" how my ideas are working. And let it just be known that if I am able to get any new ideas working, then anyone can, because I'm up there pretty high on the SSDF Lazy List :) I also think that a lot of my ideas are good, but that in practice they will slow the search down too much to produce improvements. Although I think I might be able to get some kind of complicated bitboard type of approach to make it work more efficiently. This is all still in my head and on paper though, no code, so we'll see.
